Lucky Romance Episodes 9-10

In Episodes 9-10, Sim Bo Nui (played by Hwang Jang Eum) gets more and more entangled between Je Soo Ho (played by Ryoo Joon Yeol) and Gary Choi (played by Lee Soo Hyuk). Both male leads declare their feelings to Bo Nui. Although she decides to dedicate her attention to Bo Ra, both men try to change her mind.

This week, Sim Bo Nui finally seems to leave her denim phase behind. However, she initially moves on to a hospital gown esq dress. It fits into her mode of not caring how other people look at her. As she gets ready to face Brian and Soo Ho after their confessions, she wears an outfit that looks like she is wearing an apron. However, it is actually a sleeveless halter top worn over a short sleeve shirt.

Even though her love life is in bad shape, Han Seol Hee (played by Lee Chung Ah) continues looking fabulous. Look at this off the shoulder dress that is perfect for the sexy professional look. However, I wouldn’t recommend wear this dress by itself in the office. Off the shoulder is too much skin exposure for most corporate jobs. On the other hand, the yellow full body dress is perfect for summer office days.

When Soo Ho finally asks Bo Nui out for a proper date, he went shopping for a suit. We cracked out when we saw his suit shorts. It’s the perfect formal look for an informal guy. We expect to see this look at summer weddings this year.

Although this is not fashion, but we had to comment on how ridiculous this Expedia product placement marketing is. When Zeze employees arrive at their cabin, they are greeted by a cardboard bear that bears the Expedia logo. Umm..wouldn’t they have been greeted by the cabin’s manager? The brand name looked too out of place in the nature surrounding. Even Seol Hee looks surprised to see such obvious marketing.

Lucky Romance Episode 7- Episode 8

In Lucky Romance episodes 7-8, Sim Bo Nui finds out her sister has regained feelings in her body. Due to this great news, the atmosphere of the series has lightened up considerably. Bo Nui is relieved all of her bad luck warding efforts have paid off and for the first time, turns optimistic about the future. She’s still cautious about her own bad luck, but she can breathe a bit now. Her fashion style remains bohemian chic. With 60s hippie pattern shirts and wide bottom jeans, her eclectic fashion is a reflection of her alternative lifestyle. The one time that she looked normal and non-denim was when she was attempting the one night stand. She wore a beautiful coral dress with a yellow purse bag. The look was colorful and bright, compared to the peasant stops that she normally wears. She was trying to present herself as an attractive woman instead of a worried older sister. Check out the contrast in her looks here:

The second female lead in Lucky Romance is Han Seol Hee, played by Lee Chung Ah. Seol Hee is Brian Choi’s (played by Lee Soo Hyuk) manager. She has a past romantic history with Je Soo Ho (played by Ryoo Joon Yeol) and has come back to Korea to try to win him back. As a professional sports manager, Seol Hee is usually in business casual clothing. One of our favorite pieces is her tie tops. Tie tops are a great way to look professional and trendy at the same time. However, we like her because she’s not stuffy. She has a cute side. For example, one of the funniest scenes is when she was wearing flip flops in her office until she got a call from Soo Ho. She immediately starts changing into her high heels. As if changing into heels will give her an advantage in the romance playing field. In the last two episodes, she also starts wearing more denim like Bo Nui. Check out her denim dress below:

Lucky Romance: Denim Impressions

In Lucky Romance, Hwang Jang Eum plays Sim Bo Nui, an unlucky woman who is works multiple jobs to support her sick sister. Ryoo Joon Yeol plays Je Soo Ho, a CEO of a gaming business, who has been famous since he was a child for being a genius. Lee Soo Hyuk plays Gary Choi, a top ranking tennis player who grew up in Canada and is now back in Korea trying to track down his father. Brian grew up in the same house as Bo Nui so he moves in next to Bo Nui after he saw her still living in the same location.

Sim Bo Nui has had a pretty sad life up to this point. She doesn’t have much money, but she makes enough to pay the bills and have enough to eat. Her parents passed away, and her sister is currently in the hospital. Bo Nui believes she is cursed. As such, she is very superstitious. She visits a shaman for advice on how to invite more good luck into her life. Her style reflects the her eclectic lifestyle. Along with wearing curse busting talismans, she wears a lot of denim. Denim overalls, denim jackets, denim dresses. The weirdest look that we’ve seen is denim skirt over denim jeans. We don’t know how effective is against bad luck, but we do know that denim is coming back in a big way in both men and women fashion. It’s time to dust off and update that 80s denim jacket.

Check out the superstitious look here:

Gary Choi is a typical jock who doesn’t really care about much outside of tennis and finding his father. His agent (played by Lee Chung Ah) takes care of his appearances, or rather, lack of appearances. Gary is a private person and doesn’t grant much marketing opportunities. When he’s not in the public eye, he dresses casually in tshirts/sweater and jeans. However, he has a preference for short denim jackets. One of his looks that really stood out was a studded short denim jacket. The jacket seemed a little too young and amateur for a professional athlete, but his youth makes the look work. When he makes a professional appearance, his style leans towards trendy professional. For example, when he announces to the world he’s the model for IF, he went on stage with a floral pattern blazer. That’s how cool he is. We’re guessing that Amy plays a hand in what he wears, but knowing Gary, he is the one who makes the final call.

Check out the professional tennis player’s looks here:

One person who wouldn’t be caught dead in anything with rhinestones is Je Soo Ho. Soo Ho is strictly tshirt and sweater. He tries to stay off the radar, even more than Brian, because he gets anxiety attacks when he’s in the public eye. He also doesn’t care much what people think of him. His style is straight out of J.Crew. Chino shorts, keds, fitted button ups.
